In this episode of WHY THEY LISTEN - we learn from Andrea Koppel, the founder and chief java junkie of Time4Coffee.org. A company with a mission to help one million college students turn their degrees into careers they’ll love.
Since founding Time4Coffee in early 2018, years before the coronavirus made in person networking coffees next to impossible, Andrea has had hundreds of virtual networking coffees with people – in dozens of different careers. These ‘caffeinated career conversations’ cover topics like: what different jobs are really like; how young people can break into these industries; how to bounce back from career fails and how people found their professional passions.
Today Time4Coffee has thousands of fans in 160 countries and all 50 states. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur and podcaster, Andrea zigged and zagged her way across three different careers. She started out her professional life as a journalist where she spent 20 years, the last 14 of them as an on-air correspondent with CNN as a foreign correspondent in Asia and then covering American foreign and domestic policy.
She then pivoted into public relations and eventually into the nonprofit world, leading global affairs and policy for Mercy Corps, an international humanitarian and development organization. Andrea has a B.A. in political science, Asian studies and Chinese from Middlebury College.
